Computer and desktop renting and leasing
Fixed workstations, all-in-ones and mini PCs are still the right choice for counters, receptions, laboratories and production lines. They are cheaper than an equivalent laptop and last longer, which makes a 48 or 60-month term particularly attractive.
- 48-60 months is the typical term
- From €850 of investment per workstation
- 1 rent for the whole fleet
Longer terms, lower rents
An office desktop has a longer real working life than a laptop: it is not carried around, it does not get dropped, and the battery is not a consumable. This allows 48 or 60-month terms with no risk of being left with unsuitable equipment at the end, and the longer term lowers the rent significantly.
In practice, the difference between 36 and 60 months on the same investment is close to a third of the monthly rent. In fleets of dozens of workstations, it is the decision with the biggest impact on the budget.
Shared workstations and demanding environments
Service counters, factory floors and laboratories see wear that an office fleet does not. It is worth considering industrial-grade equipment and including on-site warranty with next-business-day response; the cost of a service counter out of action is measured in customers, not in repair euros.
- Mini PCs and all-in-ones for receptions and service areas
- Industrial-grade workstations for dusty or vibrating environments
- Thin clients for virtualised environments
- Monitors, stands and peripherals in the same contract
Typical investment per workstation
| Configuration | Components | Investment |
|---|---|---|
| Office workstation | Compact i5/16 GB desktop, 24" monitor | €850 |
| Service all-in-one | 24" touch AIO, stand and peripherals | €1,250 |
| Fixed workstation | Dedicated GPU, 64 GB, two 27" monitors | €3,200 |
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth renting such inexpensive equipment?
It is when the volume justifies it. A single €850 workstation does not open a process; thirty €850 workstations are a €25,500 investment the company does not have to pay out all at once. The calculation is done for the fleet, not for the unit.
Can I mix desktops and laptops in the same contract?
Yes, and it is the most common case. A single contract with a single rent and a single renewal date is easier to manage than separate contracts per type of equipment.
What happens if a workstation is no longer needed?
Renting contracts have a fixed term: the rent continues until the end. That is why we size the contract on the stable fleet and leave seasonal peaks to short-term hire, which is a different product.
