What a workstation as a service is
The idea is simple: instead of the company buying a laptop, buying a dock, contracting a warranty, paying someone to prepare the machine and then dealing with disposal at the end, it contracts a monthly amount per workstation that covers the whole cycle. IT stops managing purchases and starts managing workstations.
The management advantage is greater than the financial one. A cost per workstation per month is a metric management control can allocate to cost centres, compare between departments and project for the following year, something a yearly investment invoice never allowed.
Typical make-up of a rent per workstation

When it is not worth it
If the company already has a properly sized in-house IT team and mature deployment processes, paying for preparation and support services in the rent means paying twice. In those cases only the equipment is financed and the services stay in-house. We say so in the quote when that is the case; a badly sized contract lasts three years and spoils the relationship.

How much does a workstation cost per month?
An office workstation with essential equipment, preparation and on-site warranty is close to €50 per month over 36 months. A premium workstation with two monitors, support, warranty and insurance is close to €95. The figures depend on volume and the credit assessment, and the calculator gives the range in seconds.
Can I have different profiles in the same contract?
Yes, and it is normal. Two or three profiles are defined (office, technical, management), each with its own amount per workstation, and the contract accommodates the mix.
What happens when someone leaves the company?
The equipment goes back into internal stock and is reassigned to the next employee. The rent continues, because the contract has a fixed term on the number of workstations contracted. That is why we size it on the stable headcount.
